Son unremorseful after killing his father

A 23-year-old son has showed no remorse after killing his father, who beat up his wife and younger children every time he was drunk, in the central Philippine province of Negros Occidental.

Randy Bargamento, 23, stabbed dead his father Esteban, 48, inside their home in Cauayan town last Wednesday, according to a report carried by the tabloid ‘Pilipino Star Ngayon’ on Friday.

Police Senior Inspector Lowell Garinganao, the town’s police chief, said that Randy actually challenged his father to a man-to-man fight on that fateful night, when the latter came home drunk and tried to hit his wife and their younger children.

Randy exerted some effort to pacify his father, who then grabbed a kitchen knife and tried to stab the former. Esteban wasn’t successful in hurting Randy, so he again turned to his wife and smaller children.

Fed up and pissed off with his father beating up his mother and siblings every time he got home intoxicated, Randy went to look for a knife and challenged his father to some kind of a duel.

Garinganao said the father sustained stab wounds to his back and chest while the son got wounded in his hands.

He described the son, who is facing charges of parricide, as having not shown any remorse over the killing.
