An employee of a company operating traffic police cameras in Saudi Arabia was shot inside his car as he was monitoring traffic for speedsters.

Police said the bullet penetrated the car door and struck the operator in the leg, adding that he had an urgent operation at hospital.

‘Sabq’ newspaper quoted police sources as saying the operator’s condition has improved and that they were searching for attacker on a motorway near the capital Riyadh.

The police cameras in Saudi Arabia, dubbed as Saher (vigilant) and operated by a private company, have been a target of a series of attacks apparently by speeding drivers resenting being hunted by the camera.
