Pregnant girlfriend demands money from lover's wife to ditch him

SRI LANKA: An incident has been reported from Kotadeniyawa police on International Women’s Day, where a girl demanded compensation from her lover's wife to stop the affair, ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

The husband, a father of one, who had been having an affair with a young woman. He ran into serious debts and presuming that his wife would settle them for him.

Later, he eloped with his girlfriend which led the woman's parents as well as his wife to file police complaints.

The wife somehow brought her husband and his lover from their hiding place to the police station. The husband refused to go with his wife, and she did not want to let go of him or give him his freedom.

To everyone's surprise, the girlfriend told the police that she was pregnant with her lover's child and if the man's wife paid her a hefty compensation, she would let go of the man.

The police officers settled the matter and finally, they handed over the girlfriend to her parents.

Although, the husband left the station with his wife, it was evident that he would not let go of his girlfriend easily.

It is not clear whether the wife handed over or promised to pay the pregnant woman.
