15-metre dead whale found on beach

Strollers on a Saudi beach stumbled across a 15-metre dead whale believed to have been dead for nearly a month.

Visitors to the beach said they were strolling on the pavement when they spotted a large object lying still on the sand in the southern Saudi province of Jazan.

The Arabic language daily Sabq quoted fishermen in the area as saying the whale seems to have died nearly a month ago and that it was the fifth dead whale to wash ashore on the same beach in a few years.
