20 Filipinos in Saudi convert to Islam

Twenty people from the Philippines converted to Islam in Saudi Arabia at the same time and officials said they did so after attending a course on the religion over the past few weeks.

The 10 men and 10 women embraced Islam at a mosque in the capital Riyadh amidst “chanting by the crowd Allah Akbar (God is Great),” Sabq daily said.

“The new Muslims hugged other Muslims at the mosque to express their brotherhood...the Guidance Centre will organize Umra (mini pilgrimage) trips for the new Moslems soon,” the paper said.
