300kg woman flown to hospital for treatment

A Saudi woman weighing nearly 300kg has been flown to hospital in the Gulf kingdom for treatment of obesity, a newspaper reported on Monday.

A large number of medical staff members were deployed to carry Saada Suwaidi on a special bed and put her aboard a health ministry aircraft.

Suwaidi, 70, was flown from home in the Southern province of Jazan to King Khalid Specialized Hospital in nearby Najran.

“She will be subjected to medical tests and an operation to save her life after she suffered from health problems for years,” ‘Ajel’ daily said.
