5 kg tumor removed from Filipina patient

Saudi doctors removed a five kg tumor from the left ovary of a Filipina after she suffered from excruciating pains for more than three years.

The 49-year-old woman was admitted to hospital in the Capital Riyadh with severe pain and swollen abdomen and images showed she needed an urgent surgery.

Doctors said they also removed the uterus and part of the ovary during the operation that lasted several hours.

“She is now in a stable condition and has started to recover,” Sabq Arabic language daily said, adding that the tumor was around 30 cm long.
