Kuwaiti police issued a whopping 6,899 tickets for traffic offences during a surprise campaign against road violations in the Gulf country during the two-day week end, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
The campaign also resulted in the arrest of 14 drivers and impounding of 265 vehicles for serious offences, the Arabic language daily Alanba said.
It said 1,133 offences were recorded in the capital Kuwait City while the remaining tickets were issued in other parts of Kuwait. The paper gave no details of the traffic offences.
