7 tonnes of 'expired' baby milk seized in Saudi

Saudi authorities foiled an attempt to market nearly seven tonnes of bad baby milk which could have poisoned thousands of children in the Gulf Kingdom’s second largest city, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

Municipal authorities in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah seized the shipments at a hideout, where owners were trying to change the expiry date on the milk cans, 'Okaz' Arabic language daily said.

“All the milk cans have expired and are no longer fit for human consumption…the operation saved Jeddah’s children from the poison of seven tonnes of bad milk,” the paper said.
