70-year-old man commits suicide

A 70-year-old Egyptian shepherd in Saudi Arabia killed himself by jumping on high-voltage power cable just a few days before he was to return to Egypt, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The unnamed man struggled to climb up a small power pole near a cattle farm in the northeastern town of Hafr Al-Batin and jumped on the main power line, 'Alriyadh' said, quoting police sources.

“Investigations showed that the man had suffered from bad psychological conditions and wanted to return home,” it said.

“Police determined it was a suicide as they found his purse and watch on his bed.”
