An 88-year-old Saudi man has accumulated 15 traffic fines, including jumping red lights, although he does not have a car and a driving licence, the Saudi online news network Sahafaonline said on Tuesday.

Issa Mohammed Al Muhanna is wanted by the Saudi traffic police to pay SR5,550 (Dh5,530) for committing 15 traffic violations in three major cities, including speeding, jumping the red signal and non-use of seat belt.

His son, Abdul Rahim, was told about the fines by the immigration authorities, which refused his request to issue visas for new workers.

“They told me to settle these fines before they agree on my request,” Abdul Rahim said. “When I contacted police, they said my father has committed 15 offences in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah although my father has neither a car nor a driving licence and he had never driven a car in his life.”
