Abandoned lover wreaks havoc on Saudi road

A Pakistani man, enraged by his girl-friend’s decision to marry another man at home, got behind the wheel of his truck in Saudi Arabia and tried to bang into other cars on a motorway at a speed of 140 kph before his vehicle overturned.

A YouTube film lasting more than 11 minutes showed the truck was moving on the wrong direction of the road near the capital Riyadh and nearly crashed into other cars but failed after the drivers of those cars moved away from the truck.

Two Saudi men who happened to be on that road tailed the truck and filmed the scary saga which could be mistaken for an American action movie.

The two Saudis said they tried to warn other vehicles coming the other way by continuously honking for them to steer away from that truck.

The film, published in the Arabic language 'Sabq' newspaper, showed many cars narrowly escaped crashing into the truck by jumping off the road. After the truck driver apparently gave up, he steered out of the motorway and headed for the sand at a high speed before his vehicle overturned.

The film showed the two Saudi men and other people on the road rushed to the capsized truck and pulled the driver out.

“The driver suffered from light injuries, thanks God. We contacted his Saudi sponsor who said the Pakistani was trying to commit a suicide after receiving news that the girl he loves married another man at home,” one Saudi told the paper.
