Air Force flies Omanis out of Turkey

An official source at the Foreign Ministry has told Oman News Agency, ONA, that the first aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman, RAFO, has headed to Ataturk Airport in the Republic of Turkey to transport Omani citizens who are trapped in Turkey due to the recent coup.

More flights will follow as about 500 Omanis have said that they desire to return. The Ministry source urged citizens to contact and coordinate with the Sultanate’s embassy in Ankara in Turkey and the Consulate in Istanbul and to abide by Turkish laws and regulations.

The source said that the Embassy and the Consulate will overcome any difficulties that may face Omani citizens there and help them return home.
