Baby dies in air just before landing

A one-year-old Lebanese girl died in air just before the aircraft landed in Kuwait and doctors said cabin pressure could have killed her, the Kuwaiti Arabic language daily 'Alanba' reported on Tuesday.

A medical team waited at Kuwait international airport after the flight captain radioed the control tower and reported a medical emergency, the paper said, quoting airport sources.

Cabin crew tried in vain to revive the baby after suddenly falling unconscious on her mother’s lap in the aircraft, the paper said.

“Minutes before landing, the baby died…a doctor who examined her at the airport said pressure inside the aircraft could be the reason for her death,” it said without mentioning the flight origin.
