Baby found in box near Saudi mosque

A Muslim scholar stumbled across a baby inside a box as he was heading for prayers at a mosque in Saudi Arabia, news reports said on Saturday.

The preacher was on his way to mosque for evening prayers in the central town of Dawami when he heard smothered cries, Okaz said.

"When he checked the box, he found the little baby boy inside…he was in a good condition…the preacher phoned the police who transferred the baby to the competent health authorities,” it said, without mentioning the boy’s age.
