Bleeding exposes rape of maid in Kuwait

An Ethiopian housemaid who was admitted to hospital in Kuwait with severe bleeding was found to have been violently raped, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

The maid was admitted to the intensive care unit with heavy bleeding and exhaustion and doctors said the bleeding had been caused by  “violent sexual assault” against the woman, the Arabic language Al Watan newspaper reported, quoting police.

It said police decided to open a criminal case and question the maid about the assault after her recovery.
