Broadcaster’s cry halts Alarabiya news bulletin

The Saudi Alarabiya satellite TV news channel briefly halted its news bulletin on Friday after its female broadcaster burst into a crying while reading news about unrest in Syria, a Saudi newspaper reported on Saturday.

The broadcaster was reading news about the defection of a Syrian army officer in protest at the killing of hundreds of people during weeks of anti-regime demonstrations in the Arab country when she went into a “crying fit.”

The channel abruptly stopped the bulletin and started to run commercials before another female broadcaster appeared on screen and resumed reading the news for 13.00 pm, Sabq Arabic language daily said without identifying the crying presenter.
