Broken power pole spurs panic

A broken power pole has triggered panic among residents of a Saudi village as they fear it could collapse any time, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Ajel published a picture of the pole in the Southern Al Jadei village, showing the pylon is tilting after it was broken at the base.

The paper quoted residents as saying they have reported the damage to authorities but have not received any response.

“Many residents have expressed fear that the pole could fall down and cause a disaster,” the paper said.
