Camel crushed to death by train in Saudi Arabia

A camel was crushed when it was hit by a passenger train in Saudi Arabia, the latest in a series of accidents involving stray camels in the Gulf Kingdom.

The train was approaching the capital Riyadh when the driver saw the camel on the rail, the Arabic language daily Sabq said, quoting rail officials.

“The driver was taken off guard by the presence of the camel on the rail and could not stop the train. The camel was torn into pieces while the train’s front was damaged,” it said, adding that there were no casualties.

The paper published pictures showing the camel’s body badly mutilated by the impact.
