Camel gives birth to rare twins

A female camel in Oman gave birth to twins in one of the rarest cases in the world, Oman’s official media reported on Thursday.

The twin males were born in Maqshan province, nearly 350 km from the southern port of Salalah close to the border with the UAE, Oman news agency said.

"The twins have passed the danger stage and are now in a good condition," the agency quoted the unnamed camel owner as saying.

It quoted scientists as saying it was one of the rarest cases in the world as female camels deliver mostly one baby once a year.
