Car plunges into 2m deep pit in RAK

A car drive by an Emirati man plunged into a pit in the middle of the road in Ras Al Khaimah but he escaped unhurt.

The man said he was moving back after buying a meal from a restaurant on Al Nakheel St when the car fell into the two-metre deep pit.

“There was no board to warn people about this pit…I did not see it and I found my car inside the hole,” he said.

'Al Bayan' newspaper said police and civil defence rushed to the area after last night’s incident.
