Child drowns in sewage pit in Saudi

A five-year-old Saudi girl died after falling into a sewage pit near her house in the Gulf kingdom, press reports said on Saturday/

The girl was playing near her house in the northern town of Arar when she slipped and plunged into the water-filled pit, Alwatan said.

Rescuers spent nearly two hours to pluck the girl out of the hole after sucking out the water but she was already dead.
