Child forgotten in car suffocates to death

A five-year-old Saudi boy suffocated to death after his father forgot him in the locked car for several hours during peak summer temperatures in the Gulf Kingdom.

Returning home after taking his wife and elder kids to school, the man parked his car outside the house in the Western town of Taif and went in, forgetting his little son who was asleep in the car’s back seat, Okaz daily said.

“When his daughter returned from school, she asked her father about her little brother…the father got a shock and rushed to the car,” the paper said.

“He found him unconscious and immediately drove him to the hospital…. but the child was already dead because of the heat inside the car.”
