Child’s hand saved from mincer

Civil defence struggled carefully with a mincer to extract the hand of a three-year-old girl after it got stuck inside, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

Parents called the police and civil defence after they failed to get their child’s hand out of the mincer while she was playing with the machine at their house in the eastern province of Qateef, Alyoum said.

“The parents were worried that the civil defence might resort to cutting their child’s hand off,” the paper said.

“But they managed to pull the hand out safely without having to amputate it…they worked carefully on the machine and used their experience in such situations to save the girl’s hand.”
