Saudi police are still baffled by the mysterious death of two little brothers as they await forensic examination results nearly a week after the two were found dead by their mother at their house in the morning.

Police suspect criminal act could be involved in the death of the two brothers, aged two and three years, but were still awaiting results of forensic examination to determine the exact cause of the death.

“Investigators are still working on the cause to unravel the mystery shrouding the death of the two little boys….they say they are still waiting for the forensic report which could resolve this mystery,” Sabq newspaper said.

Sabq said police had questioned their mother and her ex-husband, adding that the parents said they had no idea about the cause of their death.

In her statement to the police, the mother said she had fed her two sons at the house in the western town of Taif, put them in bed and bade them good night. The next day, she tried to wake them up but they were dead.
