Dad given wrong body of dead baby

A Saudi man got a shock when he was told by the hospital that his newborn daughter died just after birth. He got another shock when he was told just before burying her that he was given the body of a four-month-old girl.

Dia Al Hisar has just arrived in the cemetery in the Eastern province to bury his daughter when he was called by the morgue manager, who is his friend.

“He told the father that the wrapped body he was burying was of another dead girl. The father rushed back to hospital, where he was handed the right body,” Ajel daily said.

It said the man reported the incident to health authorities, who opened an investigation into the case. It was not clear if the man was deliberately given the wrong body.
