Strong winds triggering one of Saudi Arabia’s worst dust storms blacked skies in the Gulf Kingdom and turned the day into night in its capital Riyadh.

A one-minute film published by the Saudi Arabic language daily Ajel showed visibility was reduced to near zero on Saturday while the city was plunged into darkness although it was still afternoon. Met officials in the world’s largest oil exporter expected storms to continue through Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

“On Saturday afternoon, Riyadh witnessed a massive dust storm that completely crippled visibility and turned its day into darkness,” the paper said.
