Doctor on trial for 'unveiling' nurse

A Saudi doctor is to stand trial in the Gulf kingdom on charges of assaulting a female nurse and taking her face veil off, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Police arrested the doctor at a government hospital in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah after the Saudi nurse reported that he assaulted her when she advised him not to use medical towels to clean his shoes.

“The doctor faces charges of taking the nurse’s veil off and pulling her hair. He is also accused of verbally insulting her,” Sada newspaper said.
