The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, yesterday delivered several buses to the Yemeni governorate of Hadhramaut, to support its sporting clubs, Hadhramaut University, government schools and local organisations for people with disabilities, under the patronage of Major-General Faraj Salmeen Al Bahsani, Governor of Hadhramaut.
The delivery of the buses was implemented under the framework of UAEs efforts, represented by the ERC, to reduce the suffering of the Yemeni people, in light of the difficult conditions in the country, and its desire to provide normal living conditions in liberated areas.
Abdullah Al Musaferi, Head of the ERC Team, stressed the desire of the UAE and its wise leadership to support the Yemeni people and reduce their suffering during the crisis facing their country, which has led to economic, psychological and social suffering.
Al Musaferi praised the role of sporting clubs, schools and their various activities in providing normal living conditions, as well as organisations that support individuals with disabilities while stressing the importance of supporting them, as implemented by the ERC.
He also highlighted the UAE's keenness, since the beginning of the Yemeni crisis, to provide humanitarian assistance to Yemen by distributing food baskets, rebuilding Yemen's infrastructure and supporting health, education and other vital sectors.
Major-General Al Bahsani thanked the UAE’s wise leadership and the ERC for their generous support while calling on the authorities that received the buses to benefit from them, and reduce the burden of transportation on local citizens.
