The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has delivered a new batch of medicines and medical equipment to Aden's health office, in line with its efforts to improve health services in Yemen which is one of the most affected sectors due to the events in Yemen.
A number of health officials in Aden and representatives of the ERC attended the event.
In a statement, ERC confirmed its support to the health sector in Yemen, as one of its priorities to restore normalcy in this field. It also highlighted its efforts in a number of areas, such as rebuilding of infrastructure, which includes restoration of hospitals and health institutions affected by the events to make them appropriate to provide necessary medical services.
The statement also said that the health sector in Yemen is facing shortage of medicines and medical requirements, while seeing a rise in the number of the injured and the sick, and added that there are specialist health committees to examine the priorities and needs of this vital sector.
The head of Aden's health office praised the role of the ERC to improve medical health services in various Yemeni governorates.
