European tourist killed on Fujairah road

A European woman visiting the UAE as a tourist died after she was run over by a car while she was crossing a street in Fujairah.

Police said the accident took place on Tuesday while the woman tried to go to the other side of the Corniche Road, using the pedestrian crossing.

As she was in the middle of the road, she was hit by a car, killing her on the spot, police said, adding that she was rushed to hospital but was already dead.

Police did not mention the driver involved in the mishap.
