Family held for kidnapping, torturing man
Several Kuwait brothers knocked at the door of a Bangladeshi man’s room in the oil-rich emirate after midnight. Just as he opened the door, they jumped on him and beat him up before they bundled him in the car and took him to their house.
Accusing him of stealing money from their house while he was doing maintenance work, they forced him to lie on his stomach and put lit cigarettes on his back to force him to confess. When they failed to wrest a confession, they phoned the police and told them they have just seized a thief at their house.
“But police suspected their statement when they noticed that the Bangladeshi was severely beaten and tortured,” Alwatan newspaper said on Monday.
“When police asked the Bangladeshi about what happened, he told them what the brothers had done to him…police believed him and arrested the brothers.”
