A Saudi man with a passion for camels agreed to pay SR50,000 ($13,300) for a female camel, took it to his farm and went to bed happily. On the next day, he impatiently rushed to see the camel but it was dead.
The unnamed farmer was so sad about the camel that his work at the farm in the northeastern town of Tabuk was disrupted for many days. As a result, he defaulted on the payment for the camel owner.
“The camel died without any known reason,” his brother said, quoted by the Arabic language daily Sabq on Monday.
“My brother is now in prison because he could not pay the camel owner…..he has two wives and eight children and is their only supporter…this camel has brought only misery to his family.”
