Girl dies after wrong blood transfusion

A Saudi girl died yesterday (July 6) after getting wrong blood group transfusion performed at King Abdullah Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

The parents of the girls accused the hospital for negligence, and urged the health  ministry to take actions against those who were responsible for the death of their daughter.

Hamdan Al Ghamedi, the official spokesperson for Besha Health Authority said that they have formed a committee to look into the case, and start immediate investigations.

He pointed out that the victim was suffering from anemia, and assured that there was no mistake in giving her a wrong blood group transfusion. He added that they will announce the results of the investigations soon.
