Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested a local man for raping a 20-year-old girl and letting four friends rape her after luring her through Facebook to a remote farm, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The man had been in touch with the girl on Facebook for several months before telling her he was in love and wanted to marry her, Alyoum said.

“He then asked to see her…when she came he pushed her into his car and sped to a deserted farm where he and four other men raped her,” the Arabic language daily said in a report from the eastern province of Qatif.

It said members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice arrested the man and were searching for his friends.

One killed, another hurt in “monkey” chase

Two Saudi men on a picnic in a rugged area outside their city made the mistake of their life when they saw a large herd of monkeys and decided to chase them with their four-wheel vehicle just for fun. The saga ended in a disaster.

“They chased them at high speed, undeterred by the ruggedness of the area,” Sabq newspaper said in a report from the western town of Taif.

“The car then overturned many times, resulting in the death of the driver…his friend suffered from serious injuries.”

Driver escapes death after snake fell on car

A Saudi man driving on a motorway in a mountainous area escaped death after nearly losing control of his vehicle when a copra snake fell on the windshield.

The man was travelling to the western town of Makkah from the southern province of Jazan near the border with Yemen when the killer reptile hit his car glass near a rugged desert area.

“After I managed to stop the car, I got out and saw that the copra fell off and hurried towards the sand,” he told Sabq daily.

“I was still angry at what happened…so I followed the snake and started throwing rocks at it until it died.”

Dad accused of forcing daughters to sell drugs

Saudi police detained and then released a man after he was accused by his daughters of forcing them to sell drugs, newspapers said on Sunday.

The girls reported their father to the police in the southern province of Jazan, saying they have had enough of him and wanted him arrested.

“The girls claimed their father is forcing them to sell drugs and never stop beating them up…they said they are fed up with his cruelty and savagery,” Alsaudi daily said. “Police released him for lack of evidence but said the case has not been closed and that they would keep an eye on the man.”

Two vice rings busted in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police smashed two prostitution rings and arrested 13 expatriate men and 20 girls with forged visas.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided two separate houses in the southern town of Abha and seized the ring members, who also possessed a gun and a large amount of ammunition.

“A large amount of sex and contraceptive pills as well as catalogues for various women were also seized at the houses,” Sabq newspaper said without specifying the nationalities of those arrested.
