A Saudi farmer sold a rare goat for SR200,000 (Dh297,000) and said he made a big profit from the deal, a newspaper reported on Monday.

Mohammed Al Otaibi said he had bought the male goat from a farmer in neighboring Qatar but he did not mention how much he had paid for it.

“Otaibi said he had just sold the male goat for SR300,000, the highest price paid for a male goat in Saudi Arabia,” Ajel newspaper said.

It quoted Otaibi, a resident of the northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin, as saying the goat belongs to a rate offspring which is “largely favored in the Gulf.”
