Gulf Air emergency landing...pilot fell ill

A Gulf Air flight GF281, which was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Bahrain made an emergency landing in Oman after the captain fell ill six hours after take-off.

The aircraft, an A330 with 136 passengers on-board, landed safely at Muscat International Airport at 1.45 and the passengers disembarked normally, 'Gulf News' reported.

The captain was taken to the Royal Hospital and was diagnosed as suffering a mild heart attack. He is stable.

The flight then continued its journey to Bahrain landing at Bahrain International Airport following a six-hour delay.
