A man from another Gulf country was arrested in Ras Al Khaimah a few hours after murdering a friend without realising he was on camera.

The victim, a 17-year-old Arab expatriate, was visiting the Gulf man and other friends at their rest house in the northern emirate at night when the crime took place.

After committing the murder, the Gulf man took the body and dumped it just in front of the victim’s house, according to 'Al Bayan' newspaper.

“He was arrested six hours after the murder as he was filmed by security cameras in the area,” the paper said.

It said an appeals court in RAK sentenced him on Tuesday to life in prison and three years for raping the boy before killing him. Another defendant was sentenced to one year and ordered deported from the UAE for hiding information on the murder.
