Infant found dead near mosque

Residents heading for prayers at a mosque in Kuwait stumbled across a dead infant apparently dumped by her mother, a newspaper in the Gulf emirate reported on Wednesday.

Police said the newborn baby had died due to the cold weather as she was wrapped with a small piece of cloth and dumped outside the mosque in Farawaniya area in Kuwait City.

“Police have mounted a search for the baby’s mother as they consider this as a premeditated murder,” the paper said.
