Israeli fruit seized in Saudi

Saudi authorities confiscated nearly 140 kg of persimmon fruit produced in Israel in line with the Gulf kingdom’s policy to ban the entry of any product from the Jewish nation.

Newspapers said health inspectors seized the fruit boxes carrying Israel production names at the central market in the northern Saudi town of Qurayyat.

“We have warned the dealers against repeating such offences…we found that they have bought the fruit from peddlers outside the Kingdom…we stick to the policy not to import any Israeli products,” said Abdul Aziz Al Musaed, head of the environment and health department in the city.
