A Saudi Arabian aircraft en route from Paris to the Gulf Kingdom diverted its flight and landed in Rome after a passenger complained of severe pain in his eye following a surgery in France, a newspaper reported on Saturday.
Abdul Karim Al Rashidi, a Saudi, said he had been allowed by doctors to fly back home after his eye surgery but he started to feel excruciating pain during flight.
“A doctor aboard the aircraft examined me and told the pilot that my condition does not allow me to continue the flight,” he told Sabq Arabic language daily.
“The pilot then decided to discontinue the flight and landed in Rome, where I was transferred to hospital…there, I was advised to delay by flight for one week.”
