Kidnapper of teenager says he meant no harm

A Saudi man who kidnapped a 15-year-old girl and caught by police after a short chase by car in the Gulf Kingdom told police he meant no harm.

Saudi newspapers said on Thursday that the man, in his 20s, forced the girl into his car while she walked with her sisters towards the city centre in the eastern port of Jeddah, the second largest city in Saudi Arabia.

After failing to stop the man from forcing her into the car, her sisters phoned the police, who sent patrols and deployed roadblocks around the area.

“The kidnapper’s car was later spotted and stopped by the police…the girl returned to her family and the man was arrested,” Okaz Arabic language daily said. “He surrendered without resistance and told the police he meant no harm.”
