Killed for a “fistful of water”

An African shepherd in Saudi Arabia died after he was beaten up by men from the same country for refusing to give them water to drink, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Tuesday.

The men were on a desert safari when they saw the shepherd’s room near a farm in a desert area south of Riyadh, Okaz said.

“They knocked at his door and asked him to give them some water but he refused to let them in as he feared they would steal him,” it said.

“They then used sticks to beat him up until he died…they were later seized by the police and after investigation, they confessed to beating the man.”
