Kuwaiti on alert after 'blazing aircraft' hoax

Kuwaiti authorities went on alert after receiving an urgent phone call from an unidentified man claiming he saw an aircraft ablaze over his house, the Arabic language 'Alanba' newspaper reported on Saturday.

“Please help us…there is an aircraft on fire over my house,” the man told police by phone from his house near the airport in Kuwait City.

“Police went on alert and informed the airport security…but control towers said there was no aircraft in distress as they have not received a signal from any pilot,” the paper said, adding police are trying to identify the caller and locate his house to arrest him for giving a false report.
