Laser beam blocks jet landing in Kuwait

An American aircraft heading for Kuwait’s international airport abruptly halted landing and shot up in space again after its pilot said a laser beam in the area blocked his vision of the runway, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The plane was about to land on Sunday night when it changed course and flew up again after the pilot radioed the airport and told them it was difficult for him to land because of a laser beam in the surrounding area.

Police called by the airport rushed to the area located by the US pilot stumbled across a camp but could not find any one.

“The captain of the aircraft later managed to land after the beam disappeared…he said there was a person directing the laser beam towards the aircraft before landing,” Alanba Arabic language daily said.
