'Magic' blamed for couple’s infertility

A Saudi couple who had not got children for nearly 18 years of their marriage despite countless of visits to doctors decided this time to seek religious help.

After one visit to the counter-magic section at the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the man and his wife said they felt much better and that they were optimistic they would finally get babies.

After combing their house in the central Afif town, anti-magic units from the Commission discovered hair and personal items belonging to the couple hidden in their back garden.

“The experts took them to their centre and destroyed them…they believe that someone had cast a magic spell on the couple,” Sabq newspaper said.

“The wife who had suffered from persistent abdominal pains said she suddenly felt much better...she and her husband said they believed their problem of not having children was caused by this magic and hope they will soon get children.”
