Maid killed trying to escape Saudi employer

An Asian housemaid was killed as she tried to escape from her employer’s house in Saudi Arabia on Saturday by using blankets to reach the ground from the fifth floor.

Police said the unidentified maid plunged from her employer’s apartment in the western town of Madina after one of the blankets snapped under her weight.

“She suffered many fractures in her body and died at hospital later,” a police spokesman said, quoted by Okaz Arabic language daily.
