A Pakistani man finally fulfilled his mother’s dream to go to Saudi Arabia and perform Haj (pilgrimage) when she reached 90 years.

The man said he travelled to Saudi Arabia a few years ago to make money and fund his mother’s trip to Makkah to perform Haj this year.

“I managed to make around SR25,000 (Dh25,000) to fulfill my mother’s dream to go to Haj,” he said as he accompanied her to Makkah last week.

'Sada' newspaper quoted the man as saying his mother performed Haj on her foot, refusing to be carried by trolleys assigned for old people in the holy city.

“She refused to be carried. She insisted on walking to follow the example of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him),” he said.
