Man holds wedding party after six months

A cash-strapped Saudi bridegroom decided to hold his wedding party six months after marriage, forcing the bride to walk in her wedding dress with a swollen belly - for she was pregnant.

The unidentified man from the southern province of Jazan agreed with his wife to delay the party because of his financial problems, the Saudi Arabic language daily 'Al Riyadh' reported on Sunday.

“After six months of marriage, the wedding was staged and it was attended by a large number of relatives and other guests,” it said.

“The bride had to wear the wedding dress and walk to the wedding car after the party with a swollen belly as she was pregnant in her sixth month…it was a chance for the baby to attend the wedding.”
