Man jailed one week for slapping wife

A Saudi court sentenced a husband to one week in prison after he slapped his wife on the face, causing damage to her ear drum.

The court in the Eastern province issued the sentence after hearing a medical report that the woman’s ear drum was badly damaged and she needs 21 days to recover.

The husband told could he hit his wife to correct her but the wife said she split from him because he mistreated and blackmailed her, according to Aljazirah newspaper.
